Hi friends. Welcome back to Day 5.
From Day 1, you might have many questions in your list.
We will explore few questions.
Starting with the first question…
“Why we need fitness routine and an active lifestyle?”
Fitness routine is important for everyone. It’s not dependent on age or gender — everyone need fitness routine and active lifestyle.
There are many modern lifestyle diseases ruining millions of lives every year. It’s affecting people’s quality of life and well-being. It affects health of the whole family — it may not be today but will do in future.
Health crises is rising. And with the passing day it’s getting worse. If something isn’t done by every one of us, it will affect us and our family negatively.
But we can fight health crises with small changes and this fitness challenge can be a solution.
I don’t suggest that an intense fitness routine is the only option. You can stay healthy and fit without stepping in the gym just by staying active. We humans are meant to be active and modern lifestyle has taken away that one essential thing.
Let’s get started exploring other important questions, so that you can start with your fitness routine.
Some of the questions are…
- Do I need a gym?
- Do I have to workout for hours?
- Do I have to depend on supplements?
- Do I have to be strict?
Many such questions will arise in mind when you will start with a fitness routine. Before wandering for the answer for those questions, let look at the most important question.
The question
Why do you want to start a fitness routine?
Or say…
What do you want from your fitness routine?
The answer depends on the goal you have:
- General Fitness for Better Health and Energy
- Minor to extreme weight loss
- Build athletic or muscular body
The purpose you choose will decide the level of effort and commitment.
Purpose = Effort
1. General Fitness or Better Health and Energy
If your fitness goal is limited to general health, then you won’t have to hustle hard. You don’t need to get under the burden of the heavyweights. You don’t need long hours of a training routine.
Bodyweight exercise, active lifestyle and healthy habits will the best choice.
3-4 hours of exercise per week will be enough with active lifestyle changes.
Exercise may include brisk walking, fun sports, swimming, or trekking. It’s about bringing fun, not restrictions.
2. Marginal to Extreme Weight Loss
Your effort will differ when you’re trying to lose 5-10 pounds or 30-50 pounds.
As you get back in the shape, you won’t have to hustle hard as you just have to maintain weight. Weight maintenance is an easy task, and maximum time should be spent here.
Lose weight to never get back to overweight. Minor fluctuation is normal, but you shouldn’t exceed to a certain point.
3. Build Athletic Or Muscular Body
It is a challenging goal and will need proper care. You need proper guidance and take additional care in everything — nutrition, training, etc.
Whatever may be your goal preference, you have to start from somewhere. That somewhere is the current 30 Day Challenge. You don’t need be intense or harsh on yourself. Start slow and keep making consistent progress.
How I Stayed Fit Without The Need of Intense Workout Routine?
I do go to the gym but haven’t gone for over 1 1/2 year. Lack of time, busy schedule, and of course to learn more so that I can complete the book. Often I prefer bodyweight exercise, jogging, cycling as the first choice. Sometimes I prefer gym.
But that didn’t make be inactive. Instead of a workout routine, I switched to an active lifestyle. I started to keep track of my daily activity, especially — time spent and distance covered while walking.
My task was to brisk walk 60 minutes, which was possible during the daily commute. I also took care of the eating routine.
It worked great for more than a year for me and can work for you. Although adding a few minutes of bodyweight exercise can train muscle better.
Takeaway
- Your goal will decide the amount of effort you have to spend.
- Exercise and an active lifestyle provides the best result
- Whatever maybe your goal — you have to start from somewhere. The beginning is always slow and feels hard. But during that process, body will get stronger so you can complete intense workout routine with ease.
That’s all for today. Tomorrow we touch an importance topic, workout nourishment.
For today, you can continue with the workout routine.
