February 27, 2020 By Deepak Kevat

Hello Friends. Welcome back to Day 26. Today’s topic is hurdles and motivation.

Motivation is the internal spark that provides a clear view of the goal we want to achieve. We feel motivated to overcome any hurdles on the way. Many hurdles may come, but they look small when we are motivated.

However, there are few hurdles that need to be addressed. These hurdles are the core of failure because they won’t let you get started. These hurdles will disturb the foundation of your journey, ultimately ruining all your effort.

You might dedicate everything to reach your destination, but you won’t reach if you have the wrong map. So In this video, we will explore the most important things that will fix the broken map.

There may be some hurdles but you will figure until you’re on the right path.

1. Information Craving

If you’ve been following the program form day 1 — I assure you know enough to make positive changes in your fitness goal. Whether you may plan to lose weight, improve health, get fit body, or any such goal.

Yes! You know enough, but still you might be wondering for the best tips around the web. Going through hundreds of videos, articles, books — but feel you don’t know enough. Don’t worry it’s not a problem only with you, it’s with everyone.

The problem is, our brain is information processing supercomputer. Since it’s one of the most advance system even came to existence, it still have some drawback.

Our brain is looking the best for us. It keeps wandering for the best information that will provide us with the best result. Many of times it will come towards the best, but, it will ignore it in sake of finding the best.

During the search for best — we miss our most important step, and it’s about taking action.

Knowledge is the first move, but with no action, all the knowledge goes to waste. No action will ultimately lead to failure.

If you get started acting on small steps — you will stay way ahead if you were spending time only on learning. Often common practice are efficient while they aren’t common practice. So there is no visible result.

If you have information craving to know the best — take a break from the wandering. Stop for a while; calm your brain. Just figure out the action plan with whatever you know. Start making changes, and you will figure out a better plan on the way.

We can’t estimate effectivity of something and how they impact us until we follow it. So take action and you will speed up the learning process.

2. Avoid Extreme Steps

There are lots of diet, strategies, pills, and other forms of stuffs available to torture our bodies.

But before taking such harsh action towards your body, there is an important question?

Do we need to take such harsh action to achieve the goal?

Do our body deserve such torture, even though it’s working for us?

If you’ve got started with the fitness challenge, whether to lose weight or improve health. It’s a sign that you care about your body. Changing nutrition, fitness routine and lifestyle is about self-care not about torturous process.

Losing weight is a good deal, but if your body suffers during the process, it’s not the worthy effort. Damage may be the same or increase with unhealthy decisions.

So a simple suggestion — please avoid extreme steps. While follow healthy tips mentioned in the earlier videos and you will get a better result. Just give time.

3. Choice

“There are always two choices. Two paths to take. One is easy. And its only rewards is that it’s easy.” — Anonymous

When you’re trying to set a goal, you will come across two choices.

First will be the easy choice.

And second, will the hard choice.

Choosing the right step will decide the outcome. A right choice will simplify the process and lead to a better result, while wrong choice will lead to a consistent struggle.

A. Easy Choice

It’s the most adopted choice.

People give 100% of their effort and energy. But instead of things getting simple, it gets tough. Later, the blame goes to genes, lack of willpower, fate, and other such stuffs.

There are lots of products available from diet, pills or strategies. They promise to give quick and better result. With that hope people try and make their life tough. They will try things just to get a result. But such things have negative impacts such as metabolism slowdown, low energy, early ageing, rise of a health problems.

B. Tough Choice

It’s the least preferred choice because it seems hard to start.

But if you want a lasting change, you need to go with the tough choice. The early days will look tough but will get simple as you get with such a lifestyle.

Building healthy habits look as the toughest task, so people skip it. But an effort on building habits proves to be the best step. Once things get habitual, you will need least mental energy to follow a habit.

It’s a tough choice to go slow when some other strategy promises fast results.

It’s a tough choice to learn about food and oneself, but proves a long-term investment.

And the tough choice is not about anything extreme on the body. It’s about learning and building a healthy lifestyle that nourishes body.

Looking at both — a tough choice will get simple with passing day.

So, what will be you choice?

Easy or tough one.

As you have been here, it’s a sign you have been following the tough choice. And dedication on learning will prove as the best step of your life.

4. Procrastination

The final hurdle is procrastination.

We usually look the best time to start but never come across it — so never get started. There won’t be perfect time or perfect start. Every start of great change isn’t perfect. But things get better when we get involved in learning by acting on the goal.

If you have been waiting for such perfect start — get started with the time and resources you currently have. It prevents procrastination and you won’t face resistance.

A healthy lifestyle is a journey toward better yourself. It may take time and effort but will improve your life. So stop overthinking and start taking action even if it may be the smallest.

Tomorrow you will learn the ways to achieve and maintain your fitness or health goals.
